New Zealand Heritage
The Northlands region of New Zealand is rich in Maori Cultutre and the history of the arrival of the European Colonial Powers.
The area around the Bay of Islands is integrally involved with the signing of the infamous "Treaty" between the Maori Chiefs and the English Settlers.
Today it allows visitory the opportunity to sail around the bay and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the many islends.
All around the region there are vineyards where it is possible to enjoy a visit and to have a beautiful lunch or evening meal with their own selection of wines.
Around the country thare are many fine well maintained churches. On the North Island they tend to be mainly Anglican in contrast to the Presbyterian Churches on the Soith Island..
Some photographs of our trip around Northland after leaving the refuge of the South Island and spending a week touring covid free around this historic country..
